At tonnage, small problems become expensive ones. A grade substituted somewhere between the order and the rolling. A price that moves between agreement and shipment. A mill that slips its schedule by three weeks. A vessel sitting on demurrage while paperwork is sorted out. We buy direct from mills, smelters and primary producers - structural steel and rebar, aluminium billet and coil, copper cathode, brass, industrial minerals, ferro-alloys, timber and agricultural bulk. The order starts with the grade defined precisely against the standard it will be tested to, because 'equivalent' is where most disputes begin. We secure the mill allocation, then have material independently assayed and inspected at the point of loading rather than on arrival, when a problem is still the supplier's to fix. Mill test certificates trace back to the heat number and are verified with the issuing mill. Then we handle the vessel or container, the clearance and the discharge at site.
