How We Trade Bulk Minerals and Ores

Bulk minerals attract more fraud than anything else we handle: assays that do not match the cargo, allocations that never existed. We audit the stockpile in person and supervise loading under charter party.

Bulk minerals attract more misrepresentation than any other category we handle. Assays that do not match the cargo. Allocations that were never real. Export permits that stall at the last moment while laytime runs and demurrage accumulates. For smelters, cement producers and chemical refiners a purity variation is not a commercial annoyance - it fouls a kiln or throws a slag balance. So we start with the assay and verify it independently, then physically audit the concession and the stockpile before any money moves. Loading is supervised under the charter party, with independent sampling at the point of load, and the discharge assay is reconciled against payment. We handle silica and high-purity quartz, iron ore, bauxite, copper cathode and ferro-alloys.

Risk Factors

Critical Procurement Challenges in Mining & Commodities

Bulk minerals attract more fraud than any other category we handle: assays that do not match the cargo, allocations that never existed, laytime running while a vessel waits, and export permits that stall at the last moment.

Assay Purity Discrepancies

Mineral shipments arriving with heavy moisture penalties, chemical impurities (e.g. excessive phosphorus/sulfur), or sub-spec grade content.

Vessel Chartering Laytime Demurrage

Slow loading at remote mineral terminals triggering thousands of dollars per day in demurrage penalties under Supramax/Handymax charters.

Phantom Mining Allocations

Unlicensed broker syndicates circulating forged mining licenses and fake Proof of Product (POP) documents for non-existent stockpiles.

Export Permit & Royalties Blockages

Mineral cargo impounded at origin borders due to unpaid mineral royalties, non-compliant export quotas, or ESG labor disputes.

Execution Framework

The Mining & Commodities Sourcing Lifecycle

Benchmark the assay, physically audit the concession and stockpile, supervise loading under charter party, then reconcile the discharge assay against payment.

01

Assay & Chemical Purity Benchmarking

We determine the precise acceptable boundaries for moisture content, active compound purity, particle size distribution (PSD), and toxic impurities.

02

Mine Concession & Stockpile Physical Audit

Our surveyors inspect active open-pit concessions, verify sovereign mining permits, and sample on-ground stockpiles.

03

Charter Party & Loading Supervision

We coordinate Handymax/Supramax vessel laytime, draft surveys, and continuous sampling by independent certified chemists during hold loading.

04

Discharge Assay Reconciliation & Payment

Final Letter of Credit settlement is executed against certified discharge weights and independent laboratory Certificate of Analysis (COA).

Technical FAQ

Mining & Commodities Sourcing FAQ

Independent assay procedure, verifying an allocation is real, charter party terms, and payment against discharge.

How do you verify mineral grade and moisture content?

We mandate independent inspection by accredited surveyors (such as SGS or Alex Stewart) at the loading terminal. Surveyors perform composite stockpile sampling, conduct moisture determination tests, and run X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) assays to guarantee the Certificate of Analysis.

What shipping terms and vessel sizes do you typically structure?

We structure transactions under Incoterms 2020 (FOB, CFR, or CIF). Tonnages range from 1,000 MT containerized shipments in big bags (FIBC) up to 25,000 to 55,000+ MT Handysize and Supramax full vessel charters.

How do you protect buyers against non-delivery of raw minerals?

Payment is never made via advance wire transfer to unverified accounts. We structure payment through Documentary Letters of Credit (LC) payable only upon presentation of genuine shipping documents, Clean Bills of Lading, and independent SGS assay certificates proving physical cargo loading.

Can you supply industrial-grade silica sand for glass and foundries?

Yes. We source high-purity silica sand with SiO2 content exceeding 99.5% and low ferric oxide (<0.02% Fe2O3), pre-washed and graded for solar glass, foundry casting, and water filtration applications.
